Family Beach House

Photography by Sean Litchfield

When a young family with decades of summer memories in Wells, Maine, asked us to design the interior of their new beach house, we were thrilled. The beautifully crafted new construction house was specifically designed for a multi-generational family. This home was built to endure sandy feet, playful pets, and the lively energy of twins, seamlessly blending durability with coastal charm.

We focused on practical yet stylish choices, like indoor/outdoor fabrics, cleanable surfaces, solid wood furnishings, and cleanable wallpaper in high traffic rooms, ensuring the space could handle everyday life with ease.We softened the compact lot’s boxy feel by incorporating local, funky art, textured lighting and wallpaper, and fabric window treatments adding warmth and personality to every corner.

The result is a home that feels both timeless and uniquely tailored to the family’s authentic style. Built to FEMA standards, this beach house is as resilient as it is beautiful.
